Safari Microwave excels in creating perfect designs in form, fit, and function.

Products Details:

Safari Microwave offers a range of EVA, all utilizing PIN diodes for reliable performance. The Electronic Variable Attenuator (EVA) is analog-controlled, with attenuation that varies based on the control voltage, making it easy to adjust. Our electronically tunable attenuators operate as variable resistors, controlled by the current applied to their control port. These devices maintain a pure signal over most of the operating frequency range, with minimal harmonic generation at lower frequencies, influenced by input power level and frequency.

Key Features

  1. Low Insertion Loss: At maximum control current (20mA), Safari Microwave attenuators offer minimal insertion loss. For instance, for 1-200 MHz has a 1.4dB insertion loss, while the  100-2000 MHz features a 4dB insertion loss.
  2. Return Loss: Return loss improves with higher control current, providing better matching (closer to 50 ohms) as current increases.

Applications:

  • elecommunications: EVAs are used in communication systems to manage signal levels and ensure consistent signal quality, especially in dynamic environments like cellular networks and satellite communications.
  • Radar Systems: EVAs help in adjusting the amplitude of radar signals, enabling better target detection and range accuracy by maintaining optimal signal levels.
  • Test and Measurement Equipment: EVAs are essential in test setups where varying signal levels are required for calibration, testing, and characterization of electronic components and systems.
  • Broadcasting: In broadcasting equipment, EVAs help control the power levels of transmitted signals, ensuring compliance with regulatory limits and maintaining signal integrity.
  • Electronic Warfare: EVAs are used in electronic warfare systems to control jamming signals, allowing for precise disruption of enemy communications without affecting friendly signals.

Safari Microwave attenuators cover a broad frequency range from 1 to 200 GHz, offering low insertion loss (1.4 dB) and high isolation (65 dB). These features make them perfect for applications such as power leveling, bi-phase modulation, and current-controlled attenuation, all while ensuring consistent performance across units.
